Two resorts, fully connected
Sipadan-Mabul Resort and Mabul Water Bungalows are sister resorts on Mabul Island, and they are fully connected. Sipadan-Mabul Resort has the beach and suits families with children: guests stay in a more affordable chalet near the beach and use all of Mabul Water Bungalows’ facilities and its restaurant. Mabul Water Bungalows is over-water luxury for couples, families and groups.
The free buggy
A free electric buggy with a driver runs along the beach and the long jetty to Mabul Water Bungalows. Ask for it by giving your chalet number; the wait is only a few minutes.
The restaurant
The restaurant stands over the water, and guests of Sipadan-Mabul Resort eat here. Coffee, tea, drinking water and snacks are free of charge. Meals are served as buffets at the Mabul Water Bungalows restaurant, with Malaysian, Chinese, Asian and Western dishes.
Seawater pool and jacuzzis
Mabul Water Bungalows has a large seawater swimming pool and two shared open-air jacuzzis. Both are open to guests of Sipadan-Mabul Resort.
Ka’andaman Spa
Ka’andaman Spa is at Mabul Water Bungalows and is open to guests of Sipadan-Mabul Resort. Ask about treatments when planning your stay. Ka’andaman Spa is built on stilts over the water.
Dive centre and activities
The dive centre, SMART-TEC, is a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort and TEC centre at Mabul Water Bungalows, reached from Sipadan-Mabul Resort by the free electric buggy. It offers diving, dive courses, snorkelling and kayak rental. Diving at Sipadan requires Advanced Open Water certification or equivalent.
The long jetty
A long jetty links the beach with Mabul Water Bungalows. The buggy runs along it, and it is open to guests of Sipadan-Mabul Resort.
Rooms at Mabul Water Bungalows
Mabul Water Bungalows has five room types. The Bougainvilla, Borneo Villa and Royale Villa Suites each have a private jacuzzi; guests of the Standard Water Bungalows and Family Villa Suites share the two open-air jacuzzis.
